2021 Bowman Transcendent Preview and Checklist

Topps expanded its super pricey Transcendent product to the prospect world last year and it’s returning to market once again.  As usual with Transcendent, it’s very limited and very pricey–and comes with an invitation to a party with plenty of free cards and autographs.

2021 Bowman Transcendent probably isn’t for your average collector who likes to rip a box once in a while, but it does carry over three dozen autographs, plus other low numbered cards with the potential for some big scores.  Only 100 boxes were produced.

A full checklist is below.

Set for release on Wednesday, October 20, each box of 2021 Bowman Transcendent will hold:

One 50-card Bowman Icons or a Bowman Icons variation set (# to 50)
One Bowman Icons Deco Gold Autograph Variation (#’d 1-of-1)
30 Transcendent Collection Autographs (#’d to 20 or Less) including two Red, Rose Gold, or Platinum Parallels #’d 1-of-1
One Wander Franco or Alec Bohm Through the Years Autograph card (#’d 1-of-1)
One 1989 Bowman Baseball SuperFractor Autograph (#’d 1-of-1)
One Oversized 1956 Bowman Prototype Baseball Cut Signature (#’d 1-of-1)
A VIP Event Invitation

Autograph Card Details

Numbered to 20, Transcendent Collection Autographs and Image Variations are the “base” cards the set and will come with several parallels including:

Blue Parallel: sequentially #’d to 10.
• Emerald Parallel: sequentially #’d to 5.
• Red Parallel: #’d 1-of-1.
• Rose Gold Parallel: #’d 1-of-1.
• Platinum Parallel: #’d 1-of-1.

Alec Bohm and Wander Franco Through the Years Autographs will be done on 50 “iconic Bowman designs,” according to Topps.

The 1/1 1989 Bowman SuperFractor Autographs will pay tribute to the “comeback” 1989 Bowman design.

Cut Signatures

Bowman, of course, didn’t produce a 1956 set as the company went out of business, but the original design that was to have been used, surfaced years ago.  2021 Bowman Transcendent will use the background for its cut signature cards, which will have a checklist comprised of baseball greats, historical figures, famous entertainers and other subjects.

As usual with Transcendent products, each box will come with an invitation to a Topps VIP event to be held at a later date, this one featuring personal appearances by “some of baseball’s most promising future stars,” according to Topps.

A few boxes are being offered online at over $20,000 each.
