The season will be over and eyes will be turned toward the upcoming NFL Draft, but the collecting doesn’t stop once the Super Bowl champs are crowned. In fact, at least one brand will make its debut as a standalone product. Panini is set to roll out 2021 Clearly Donruss Football, with a planned release date of March 23.
Collectors have seen the “Clearly” brand in basketball and as part of the Chronicles football release, but this is the first time it’ll be used for a full NFL product.
Clearly Donruss NFL will take many elements from the regular Donruss football product, but it’ll be a slightly higher end release, albeit not very hit heavy. The cards are printed on thicker, acetate stock.
Each box will contain four packs with five cards per pack. The content breakdown in a typical box will be:
Eight base cards
Eight Rated Rookie cards
Two parallels
One insert
One autograph
With a base card set of 50 veterans, accompanied by 50 Rated Rookies, boxes will offer a pretty good start on both the base set and the Rated Rookie set (16% of each).
Base set parallels will include:
Gold
Purple
Blue #’d/99
Red #’d/49
Green #’d/25
Holo Silver #’d/10
Holo Gold #’d/5
Holo Platinum #’d 1/1
Base Holo Mosaic
Rated Rookie parallels include:
Gold
Purple
Blue #’d/99
Red #’d/49
Green #’d/25
Holo Silver #’d/10
Holo Gold #’d/5
Holo Platinum #’d 1/1
Holo Mosaic
Holo RR Logo
The big draws will be Rated Rookie Autographs, featuring signatures from the top 2021 picks including Trevor Lawrence, Mac Jones, Trey Lance and Justin Fields.
Numerous parallels are in the works, including:
Blue max #’d/99
Red max #’d/49
Green max #’d/25
Holo Silver max #’d/10
Holo Gold max #’d/5
Holo Platinum #’d 1/1
Holo Mosaic
Holo RR Logo
Clearly The Rookies and Clearly Out of This World inserts offer both regular and autographed versions.
Both will have the same parallel possibilities including:
Red #’d /49
Green #’d /25
Holo Silver #’d /10
Holo Gold #’d /5
Holo Platinum #’d 1/1
Holo Mosaic
Autographs max #’d /25
Clearly My House and Clearly Dominant inserts will come in regular and autographed versions, but parallels haven’t been released.
One interesting part of the checklist will be the Rated Rookie Tribute cards that feature acetate re-creations of some rookie cards of current stars and recently retired greats. Among those on the checklist to get an acetate reboot are Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes and Kyler Murray.
Case hit inserts include Downtown, Gridiron Marvels and Night Moves, the latter two of which will be found one in every third case.
1/1 versions will also exist.
