2021 Panini Absolute Football Preview

Among the longer running lines in the annual roster of football card releases, 2021 Panini Absolute will arrive this fall, packing three packs per box.  Each pack will have five cards.  Cases will hold 12 boxes.

Three of the 15 cards per box will carry autographs, with two memorabilia cards, one insert and two parallels coming along for the ride.

This year’s case hits include the popular Kaboom! inserts and a newcomer called “Explosive.”

Base Set

The base set–called Spectrum-– consists of 100 veterans and former players and there’s also a 100-card base rookie set.  Both will also have parallel versions including:

Red /100

Green /25
Gold /10
Green /5
Black /1
Printing Plates /1

New in 2021 are the By Storm rookie inserts, featuring “players that are poised to take over the league,” according to Panini.  By Storm will also have parallel versions including:

Other insert sets on tap are Unsung Heroes, Star Gazing and Red Zone, the latter featuring possible parallels to include:

Open a case and you’ll find one of each of the Kaboom! Explosive inserts. Both will have Gold (/10) and 1/1 Green parallel versions.

Autographs and Autograph Relics

Each hobby box guarantees one Rookie Premiere Materials Autograph, featuring a signature and multiple swatches from different types of memorabilia.  They’ll have some serial numbered parallels including 1/1 Tag and NFL Shield versions.

Regular autographs inside 2021 Absolute is a subset called Historical Duals, which pairs great teammates.  There will be three parallels on the checklist including Gold (max /10), Holo Silver (max /5) and 1/1 Platinum.

The tentative release date for 2021 Panini Absolute Football is September 22.
