2022 Panini Black Football Preview

It’s an annual mix of jet black and sharp color.  2022 Panini Black Football is set to make its return next month.  Boxes contain a single five-card pack with two autographs. Cases will hold 12 boxes.

An average Hobby box should hold one Rookie Patch Autograph, one additional autograph, one memorabilia card, one base card and one parallel.


The RPAs will be numbered to 199, with lower number parallel versions including:

Silver Max #’d/99

Copper Max #’d/50

Emerald Max #’d/25

Gold Max #’d/10

Platinum #’d 1/1

Sizable Signatures Rookie Jerseys and Rookie Signature Materials are also home to autographs of first year players.

Both will be numbered to 99 with four parallel versions:  

Silver Max #’d/50

Emerald Max #’d/5

Gold Max #’d/2

Platinum #’d 1/1

Also among the on-card autograph possibilities in 2022 Panini Black are subsets that include Midnight Signatures, Capstones, Smoke Show Signatures, Spotlight Signatures and the new Night Lights Signatures, which will be numbered to 50 and include both current and former players.

Another new autograph set is Iconic Impact Ink, featuring top NFL stars on a trapped acetate stock.

Memorabilia cards

In the content this year is the new Starlight Materials, featuring memorabilia from some of the NFL’s best veterans and up-and-coming players. 

They’ll be numbered to no more than 150 with parallels that include:

Silver Max #’d/99

Copper Max #’d/50

Emerald Max #’d/25

Gold Max #’d/10

Starlight Materials Platinum #’d 1/1

Other memorabilia cards will include Futuristic and Rookie Influx.

Base Set and Inserts

The 2022 Panini Black base set will carry 200 cards, half of which will feature rookies. Parallel versions include:

Base Sapphire #’d/35

Base Copper #’d/25

Base Emerald #’d/10

Base Gold #’d/5

Base Platinum #’d 1/1 

Short print insert subsets include White Night, Regulators, ForceField and the new new Vanta cards.

2022 Panini Black currently has a release date of October 19.
