2022 Topps Clearly Authentic Baseball Preview

It’s all acetate, all autographs, all in one little package.  Topps has announced the return of its Clearly Authentic Baseball product for 2022 with the summertime single card packs set to arrive in mid-summer.

A staple on the release calendar for the last few years, Clearly Authentic offers a single encased autographed card per box, with a checklist of rookies, veterans and former stars.  Cases hold 20 boxes.

Clearly Authentic Autographs is one of several subsets in the works. It will feature rookies on the 2022 Topps Baseball base card design, but on the acetate technology and likely a different photo than the one in the flagship set.

Parallels will include:

– Green: #’d to 99
– Black: #’d to 75
– Red: #’d to 50
– Blue: #’d to 25
– Purple: #’d to 10
– Orange: #’d to 5
– Gold: #’d 1 of 1

New this year are Generation Now Autographs, which focused on the game’s young stars.

There will be seven different parallels for this one, including:

– Green: #’d to 99
– Black: #’d to 75
– Red: #’d to 50
– Blue: #’d to 25
– Purple: #’d to 10
– Orange: #’d to 5
– Gold: #’d 1 of 1

Clearly Authentic 1987 Topps Baseball Autographs brings the woodgrain border look back for yet another go-round.  If you’re been hankering for a shiny, signed version of Mark McGwire’s rookie card, here you go.

Both current stars and retired players will be shown in the ’87 Topps design. Among the seven parallel possibilities are:

– Green: #’d to 99
– Black: #’d to 75
– Red: #’d to 50
– Blue: #’d to 25
– Purple: #’d to 10
– Orange: #’d to 5
– Gold: #’d 1 of 1

New for ’22 are 1955 Reimagining Autographs, which will feature a checklist of former greats in the 1955 Topps design. All will be numbered to 199 or less with 1/1 Sepia parallels possible.

Clearly Authentic Topps Tek Autographs are also new and focused on current stars on designs inspired by the Topps Tek brand.

They’ll be numbered to 199 with a parallel roster that includes:

– Blue: #’d to 25
– Purple: #’d to 10
– Orange: #’d to 5
– Gold: #’d 1 of 1

2022 Topps Clearly Authentic is set for release on July 20.
