A pair of Panini Immaculate products, one of Topps’ most popular releases and some 2023 football issues are part of what’s coming to market during the second half of September.
In partnership with StockX, here’s a look at the current sports card release calendar:
9/16
2022 Topps Chrome Baseball
Chrome is back for another late season ride. The checklist just came out last week so you can get a look at some of the rookie autographs that will be part of it.
Standard Hobby boxes of 2022 Topps Chrome have 24 packs with four cards in each and a guarantee of two autographs while HTA Jumbo carry 12 packs of 12 cards including five autographs and a Refractor parallel. Blaster boxes are on the market as well.
The base set has 200 cards from Series 1 and 2.
Hobby boxes start at around $375 with Jumbos quite a bit higher.
2022 Panini Immaculate Baseball
Panini rolls out one of its higher end brands here, with each six-card pack housed in a tin box. Four of the six cards will carry autographs. They always get a little creative with pieces of gloves, cleats and caps in addition to the usual jersey swatches and patches.
Boxes have been running in the $390-$424 range.
9/21
2022 Panini Gold Standard Football
The gold bar box is back with its single pack of seven cards, five of which will contain autographs or memorabilia.
Rookie Jersey Autographs, Gold Jacket Autographs (Pro Football Hall of Famers) lead the way with new inserts including Aurum and Setting the Bar, with signatures from current and former greats.
Gold Standard boxes are selling for between $450 and $500.
9/28
2022 Panini Elements Football
It’s all about the one pack box for this month’s releases. Elements boxes offer five cards:
– 1 base or rookie metal card
– 1 base or rookie metal parallel
– 1 on-card metal autograph
– 1 additional auto
– 1 memorabilia card
Look for boxes at a little under $400.
9/29
2021-22 Upper Deck Artifacts Hockey
Upper Deck is touting “every pack delivers a hit” with this one, dated to last season.
2021-22 Artifacts boxes offer eight packs with four cards per pack. A typical box will yield three autograph, memorabilia or aurum bounty cards, one Rookie Redemption or Clear Cut Acetate card and four serial numbered cards to 99 or less.
Year One Rookie Sweaters cards will feature the top 2020-21 rookies accompanied by either a jersey or premium swatch derived from actual rookie season game-worn jerseys.
9/30
2022 Score Football
Score is traditionally among the first licensed NFL products of the new season. One of the lower cost brands, it nevertheless offers a pretty large amount of autograph and other chase content.
Fat packs are the norm here with ten 40-card packs per hobby box.
Look for four autographs, 90 rookies, 10 parallels, and 36 inserts per box on average. Expect to find one lenticular insert and two base/rookie die-cuts per case.
Also set for release (all subject to late changes):
2021-22 Panini Chronicles Basketball (9/21), 2022 Immaculate Collegiate Football (9/28); 2022 Panini Prizm Baseball (9/30); 2022 Prizm NASCAR (9/30); 2022 Topps Pro Debut Baseball (9/30).
